The Huntsville Eagles will now go on to face Jonesboro Westside in the 4A State Championship game at Summit Arena in Hot Springs.

 

 

The Blue Eye Lady Bulldogs were defeated in the Class 3 District 11 girls basketball finals on Saturday. Springfield Catholic defeated Blue Eye 63-55.

State Basketball playoffs coverage last night brought you the excitement of another Green Forest Lady Tigers victory as they move one step closer to a possible state championship. The Lady Tigers defeated Harding Academy 54 to 39 last night and will now advance to face the girls of Parker's Chapel, tonight at 7pm. Curtis Matthews will bring you the play by play on this game from Jessieville, right here on KTHS.

 

At 7pm, the Huntsville Eagles will jump into the state playoffs with both feet as they land on the Gosnell Pirates tonight at 8:30 from Highland High School. Travis Doshier will be on hand returning to the Mic to bring you the action on that one as they decide who moves on to the semi-finals on Saturday.

 

The Kingston Lady Yellowjackets are set to take on their next state tournament foe after they eliminated Calico Rock by a score of 41 to 36 on Tuesday in the 1st round of the 1A state tournament at Hillcrest High School. This afternoon they will face Jasper for a chance to play in the State Semi-final on Saturday.

 

Blue Eye Lady Bulldogs are playing in their Class 3, District 11Girls - Basketball District Tournament. The Lady Bulldogs eliminated Seymour 52 to 29, then took out Conway 64 to 50, and will now face Springfield Catholic tomorrow at 1pm for their district Championship in Fair Grove.

State Basketball playoffs coverage will hit the air this afternoon at 4 as Curtis Matthews brings you the Green Forest Lady Tigers against Harding Academy, live from Jessieville. Winner of this afternoon’s match will face the winner of this afternoon’s Parker’s Chapel vs. Corning game.

 

Friday night at 8:30, we will bring you the Huntsville Eagles in their State Tournament action. Their first opponent will be either Gosnell or DeQueen, with that to be decided in a game this afternoon.

State Basketball Tournament commence this week. Local area teams are included, but first, a rundown of Regional Tournament action so far.

 

The Huntsville Eagles ended up in second place in the Class 4A North Regionals in Farmington. The Eagles broke through Ozark and Clarksville to end up facing the home team Farmington Cardinals in the Saturday night finals. The Cardinals edged themselves into the championship beating Huntsville 53 to 45. They head to state with a debut in the second round set for Friday Night at 8:30 against either DeQueen or Gosnell at Highland High School.

 

The Green Forest Lady Tigers are having a season to remember this year. Their regional path found them beating Perryville 52 – 38, then Greenland beat the Lady Tigers 52 – 42, sending the girls to the Saturday Consolation game where they beat Mansfield 65 – 56 to grab third place. Next up for the Green Forest Lady Tigers will be a State Tournament game against Harding Academy in Jessieville in the 3A state tournament.

 

Also heading to State Tournaments are the Kingston Lady- Yellowjackets who took 3rd place in the Class 1A Region 1 tournament at Lead Hill. They will be facing Calico Rock on Tuesday at 4 at Hillcrest High School.

 

The Alpena Leopards also took 3rd place in their Regionals and will now face Bay in Hillcrest at 5:30.

The Huntsville Eagles Basketball squad is moving one step closer to goal of becoming the Regional Tournament champs as they smashed the Ozark Hillbillies last night. The Eagles, made the Hillbillies squeal as Huntsville overcame an early deficit to nearly mercy rule Ozark. Tucker Trumbo lead scoring for the game with 18. The Eagles take it, 75 to 52. They will play again on Friday evening at 5:30.

 

Tune in this afternoon as the Green Forest Lady Tigers and the Perryville Lady Mustangs face off in Lincoln in the 3A North Regionals at 4. KTHS will broadcast the game so don't miss a minute of the fun.
