The Berryville Lady Bobcat senior high basketball team has been in tournament mode for the last two weeks and preparing for one opponent at a time has been the secret to their success as they have run the tables on their opponents in the 1-4A district tournament and the 4A north regional tournament.  Two down and one to go as the 4A state tournament begins Thursday at 7PM for the Lady Bobcats as they will face the winner of Dumas and Central Arkansas Christian.  Berryville coaches are preparing for either team, but Central Arkansas Christian has been a top ranked team all season long thanks to an outstanding 5 foot 11 inch junior shooting guard Christyn Williams.  Williams is heavily recruited by top colleges in the nation and averages over 26 points and 9 rebounds per game.  The CAC standout was sidelined with a shoulder injury in a regional semi final loss and is expected to be back for the state tournament.  Berryville lost in the state semifinals last year to CAC 45-31 and the Lady Bobcats are planning a strategy that includes slowing down the all star player.  Dumas will play CAC on Wednesday at 4PM and the Berryville Lady Bobcats are leaving for the state tournament Wednesday at 9AM in order to scout the game Wednesday afternoon.  The public is encouraged to send the Lady Bobcats off in a big way Wednesday morning, good luck to our Berryville Lady Bobcats! Expectations for the Berryville Lady Bobcat basketball team are pretty high this year since they made a 4A state final four appearance last season, but tonight Berryville will face a team in Bobcat arena that has won four consecutive Class 2 Missouri state championships where high expectations are a way of life.  Crane Lady Pirate basketball dynasty is one of the greatest in Missouri history in that they have gone 123-7 with four state championships in four seasons.  This may be a rebuilding year for Crane but the Bobcats can expect a very good, very fundamental, and well coached basketball team.  Crane basketball coach Jeremy Mullins has said the team will feature a lot of new faces but that they expect tough defense as the trademark of the Lady Pirates.  The Berryville Lady Bobcats may be young but they have plenty of experience to offset a team of this caliber.  Berryville opened the season last week against Lincoln and cruised to the victory led by point guard Baylee Smith and post player Hannah Morrell.  Berryville can expect solid play from returning players Jeanessa Smith, Melody Smith, Aspen Smith, and Kelsey Hopper. Games tonight in Bobcat Arena will begin at 6PM starting with the JV boys followed by the senior high girls.  Berryville athletic director Brent Compton encourages basketball fans to come out for a great night of high school basketball in Bobcat Arena in Berryville.

The Green Forest junior high basketball teams will host Bergman tonight with junior high girls and boys A and B games beginning at 4:30 in Fred Grim Gym in Green Forest.
